Liquefying panniculitis associated with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm
A 64-year-old man presented with a weight loss of 10 kg over 1 year and insomnia. CT scan revealed an approximate 3.0 cm homogeneous low-density mass in the head of pancreas. Tumor markers including CEA, CA125, AFP and CA199 were not elevated. The patient’s serum levels of amylase, lipase and calcium were normal. The patient received the pancreatoduodenectomy on 3 March 2010 and the postoperati...
متن کاملA simplified plate method for detecting gelatine-liquefying bacteria.
Frazier (1926) described a plate method of testing for gelatine liquefaction. The gelatine was incorporated in a low-peptone agar medium. After growing the organism on the medium, the occurrence of digestion was shown by treating the plates with acid mercuric chloride or tannic acid. Frazier claimed that his method was more sensitive and gave quicker results than the usual gelatine " stab" meth...
متن کاملMechanical, Microstructure and Surface Characterizations of Carbon Fibers Prepared from Cellulose after Liquefying and Curing
In this study, Cellulose-based carbon fibers (CBCFs) were prepared from cellulose after phenol liquefaction and curing. The characteristics and properties of CBCFs were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results showed that, with increasing car...
متن کاملThe Presence of a Gelatin-liquefying Enzyme in Crude Pepsin Preparations
A protein fraction has been isolated from crude pepsin preparations which is about 400 times as active as crystalline pepsin in the lique-faction of gelatin. The activity as measured by the digestion of casein, edestin or egg albumin is less than that of crystalline pepsin. It is more resistant to alkali than the crystalline pepsin.
متن کاملStarch-fermenting, gelatin liquefying corynebacteria and their differentiation from C. diphtheria gravis.
During recent years attention has been drawn to the isolation of starch-fermenting, gelatin-liquefying corynebacteria from acute cases of sore throat (Jebb, 1948; Saxholm, 1951). Fourteen strains have been isolated in this laboratory between January, 1946, and June, 1951, 12 from acute tonsillar infection, one from the throat of a symptomless carrier, and one from a lesion on the hand. In addit...
